Tiger Flooring Case Study
Martins House Residential Care Home in Stevenage needed new flooring to several key areas, such as residents bedrooms & bathrooms and the dining room & conservatory. In addition the corridors & lift areas were worked on.
Operationally we had to be mindful of the residents and operational requirements-which impact 24hrs day in a fulltime care home. Noise, materials and access were all issues to consider and we had to bear in mind that we were working in the home of vulnerable people.
The individual rooms of the residents, involving carpet in the bedroom and vinyl in the bathroom, were completed in just one dayas the rooms could be vacated. Other flooring such as the corridors and lift areas were completed in stages with some spaces temporarily cordoned off. The phases were discussed and agreed with the management and workied around staff and residents to allow for a smooth transition.
